Company Description

Founded in 1965, travel and outdoor brand Craghoppers places emphasis on developing outdoor and travel apparel both designed and engineered to protect customers, wherever they travel and whatever the climate. Today Craghoppers is one of the UK’s leading outdoor apparel brands and a growing success story overseas.

MCS has worked with Craghoppers since 2010 and launched its renowned world exclusive insect repellent travel clothing – NosiLife, to the UK’s trade and consumer press.

PR Brief
MCS’ original brief was to launch Craghoppers’ new range of permanent insect repellent clothing and accessories to the market. At the time of the launch there had been little PR on the new range and MCS was brought in to focus on this world exclusive collection and launch it to the travel and lifestyle press, as well as maintain a presence in key outdoor titles with Craghoppers’ range of core outdoor clothing.

Over the two years MCS has worked with Craghoppers the PR brief has evolved in line with the brand’s innovations and clothing lines.

More recently Craghoppers has diversified into the broader lifestyle market and by forging relationships with journalist in the wider press (including national fashion and lifestyle) MCS has been instrumental in securing Craghoppers’ position in the lifestyle arena.
PR Objectives
• To launch the new Craghoppers NosiLife collection to the UK’s trade and consumer press
• To generate brand awareness of the NosiLife range
• To help generate increased sales

• To stimulate consumer demand

In the past 2 years MCS has worked with Craghoppers we have achieved hundreds of pages of coverage in key outdoor consumer and trade, travel, lifestyle and national press, providing over 50 million opportunities for potential customers to see their product and nearly £2 million worth of advertising equivalent coverage. This has given the brand a great platform from which to showcase and promote their product and a tremendous return on their investment.
PR Brief
Although GoLite already had a small presence within the European market, the owners wanted to achieve dynamic growth by increasing brand identity and product awareness in the trade and with consumers.

MCS were challenged with a pan-European PR brief for GoLite focusing on specialist outdoor and sports media as well as seizing any appropriate national press features. As GoLite continued to expand its product offering and develop new ranges such as the Adventure Travel collection, MCS’s brief has developed to include a broader selection of markets and media outlets.

• To generate brand awareness for GoLite in the trade and consumer press within the UK and Europe
• To position GoLite as the brand of choice for outdoor enthusiasts
• To help generate increased sales
• To strengthen relationships with key trade and consumer media
• To educate and inform journalists of the full GoLite product range
• To stimulate consumer demand for GoLite products
• To build confidence and loyalty amongst press and consumers
MCS represented GoLite between 2008 and 2011 and has created in excess of 250 pages of coverage in specialist and national publications that generated over 15 million opportunities to see!


Company Description

GoLite pioneered the development of lightweight outdoor equipment and apparel. It set the benchmark for performance equipment that contains all the features that you need and none that you don’t! It is also renowned for its environmentally friendly policies all the way through the supply chain and with the use of recycled and recyclable materials.

The Colorado based brand was initially launched in 1998 from a desire by the founders to create lightweight outdoor gear, while maintaining all of the essential technical elements required for hiking and backpacking adventures. Initially the brand was launched with a small collection of backpacks, GoLite now produces a diverse product range for use in the outdoor sports market including hiking, camping, running, cycling, skiing and keep fit.


Company Description

Crocs is the leading brand in the moulded footwear market. Crocs was launched in the UK in 2006 and MCS worked with the brand since it launched until 2010.

PR Brief
The brief for the Crocs account changed as the company evolved from one shoe model to a footwear brand. MCS’ brief was to launch the original Crocs style to different markets, from outdoor to lifestyle and from watersports to fashion. As the company launched new models into the market, the brief incorporated the promotion of kids’ summer styles, women winter boots and sports flip flops amongst others. The corporate promotion of the brand in the financial press as well as specific projects such as launching new lines, celebrity seeding and store launches all formed part of MCS’s brief.
PR Objectives
• To launch the Crocs brand in the UK market
• To position Crocs as a fun and functional footwear
• To launch new styles and evolve into a ‘footwear brand’
• To stimulate demand for all the product ranges
From 2006 – 2008, MCS achieved over 250 pages of coverage for Crocs in national newspapers, fashion magazines and financial press providing 172 million opportunities to see and £2,014,985 advertising equivalent.
